Whether a used GROB machine tool can consistently generate value for you in the long term depends almost entirely on its maintenance and upkeep after purchase. Establishing a scientific and rigorous maintenance system is the cornerstone of ensuring a return on investment.

Establish a preventative maintenance (PM) system. Never "don't repair unless it breaks down." Strictly follow the requirements of the GROB original manufacturer's maintenance manual and develop daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspection plans.

Daily: Check hydraulic and pneumatic pressure; clean chips and oil stains; check lubrication unit fluid levels; warm up the machine.

Weekly/Monthly: Clean or replace the filter unit; check coolant concentration and cleanliness; tighten critical electrical connections.

Semi-annual/Annual: Conduct a comprehensive inspection by professionals, including retesting the accuracy of each axis, testing the spindle's dynamic accuracy, changing hydraulic oil and coolant, and cleaning and dusting the electrical cabinet.

Focus on core systems.

Spindle system: This is the heart of the machine tool. Monitor its operating noise and temperature rise, and regularly check the drawbar force. Before long-term shutdown, always perform spindle oil mist lubrication to prevent internal rust.

CNC System: Ensure good heat dissipation for the control cabinet and clean the fan filter regularly. Always perform multiple backups of complete system parameters, PLC programs, and tool data; this is the lifeline for fault recovery.

Hydraulic and Cooling System: Maintaining clean hydraulic fluid is crucial for system stability. Regularly check oil quality and replace as needed. Prevent microbial growth and impurity accumulation in the cooling system to avoid clogging pipes and affecting accuracy.

Treat your used GROB like an experienced assistant; with careful maintenance, it will reward your investment with consistently high performance.
