When buying a Hammar N80 hobbing machine, how do I determine how new or old the equipment is?

When you buy a Hamai N80 hobbing machine, you can judge the newness of the equipment from the following aspects:
1. **Appearance check**
    - **Paint and marking**: the paint of brand-new equipment is usually even in color, bright, without obvious scratches, flaking or fading, and the marking and nameplate on the equipment are clear and complete. The used equipment may have paint wear, scratches more cases, especially in frequent contact or easy to collision parts, such as the edge of the table, near the guide rail.
    - **Surface wear**: Carefully observe the surface of each part of the equipment, such as guide rails, work table, gears, etc.. The surface of the new equipment should be smooth with no obvious signs of wear. Old equipment, on the other hand, may have worn lines or pits on the guide rails, scratches and bumps on the work table surface, and wear and discoloration on the teeth of the gears.
2. **Internal parts check**
    - **Mechanical parts**: Open the protective door or cover of the equipment and check the internal mechanical parts. The surface of gears, shafts, screws and other parts of new equipment should be smooth and clean, without wear, rust or fatigue cracks. For old equipment, focus on checking the connection parts of these parts, rotating parts whether there are signs of loosening and increased wear, such as whether the meshing gap of the gears is too large, and whether the threads of the screws are worn and deformed.
    - **Electrical components**: check the electrical components in the electrical cabinet, the electrical components of the new equipment have a clean surface, no dust, oil, solid line connections, clear markings. The electrical components of the old equipment may show signs of aging, such as capacitors may have bulging phenomenon, the contacts of the relay may have ablation traces, and the insulation of the line may be aging, broken, and so on.
3. **Operating condition detection**
    - **No load operation**: Let the equipment run no load for a period of time to observe its operating status. The new equipment should run smoothly without abnormal vibration, noise or jamming. The movement of each coordinate axis should be smooth and accurately positioned. Older equipment may have higher vibration and abnormal noise during operation, which may be caused by the wear and tear of mechanical parts or decreased installation accuracy.
    - **Load running**: conduct load running test when conditions permit. You can observe the performance of the equipment under load by processing some simple workpieces. New equipment can maintain stable machining accuracy during load operation, and the operating parameters of each component (e.g. current, voltage, etc.) should be within the normal range. Older equipment may experience a decrease in processing accuracy, such as an increase in tooth shape error and tooth direction error of gears, or overloading of the motor and unstable operation of the equipment when the load is large.
4. **Equipment information and history**
    - **Equipment files**: Ask the seller for the original files of the equipment, including the factory certificate of conformity of the equipment, acceptance reports, instruction manuals, maintenance records, etc.. By looking at this information, you can understand the date of production, use time, maintenance and other information about the equipment, so as to have a more accurate judgment on the degree of newness and oldness of the equipment. If the equipment is used for a shorter period of time, and less maintenance records, then the equipment is relatively new; on the contrary, if the equipment is frequently repaired, it may mean that there are some problems with the equipment, and its degree of newness will also be affected.
    - **Use records**: Ask the seller how often the equipment is used and the environment in which it is used. If the equipment is used less frequently, and the use of the environment is better, then the degree of wear and tear of the equipment is relatively small, the degree of newness will be better. For example, the equipment is used in a constant temperature, dust-free workshop environment, its aging speed will be slower than the equipment used in harsh environments.
5. **Brand and production batch **
    - **Brand reputation**: understand the brand characteristics and reputation of Hamai hobbing machine. Generally speaking, equipment of well-known brands have higher standards in manufacturing process, material selection and quality control, and the overall quality and durability of the equipment is better. If the equipment is from some niche brands or counterfeit brands, its quality and newness may be difficult to guarantee.
    - **Production lot**: For the same model of Hammar N80 hobbing machine, equipment from different production lots may differ in some details and performance. Newer batches of equipment may have adopted more advanced production processes or improved some design flaws, and will be relatively better in terms of performance and appearance. The serial number or production number of the equipment can be used to query the production batch information, which will assist in determining the degree of newness of the equipment.
